A modern data center exterior surrounded by native desert landscaping

The grid says 2031. Your customers need capacity today.

Takanock delivers permanent on-site power generation to your data center under a long-term power agreement — recovering 3–5 years from utility timelines, with five-nines reliability and Continuity of Power for back-up and minimal on-site diesel. You purchase power. We handle everything upstream.

01 Power-enabled sites

If you need land and power — we deliver both.

Before we acquire an acre, we’ve already modeled the grid. Every Takanock site is selected using proprietary transmission power-flow modeling — ensuring that generation can be permitted, interconnected, and operated to support your load profile before a single dollar is committed to land. By the time you engage, the hard part is done.

  • Fee-simple land acquisition in core Tier 1 data center markets, selected for generation viability — not just real estate potential
  • Zoning, air permitting, and environmental approvals secured
  • Utility agreements for power, natural gas, and water in place
  • On-site generation installed to match your timeline — you break ground with customized power ready to deploy
  • Scales from 40 MW single-building configurations to 1 GW+ AI campus deployments

02 Speed to power on your site

You have the site. You’re years away from power. We fix that.

On-site natural gas generation puts your data center in operation 3 to 5 years ahead of the utility — and keeps running long after the grid catches up. Every installation is designed as permanent infrastructure from day one. It serves as primary power during the grid gap, then transitions seamlessly to backup once interconnection is complete. One asset. Two roles. Full lifecycle value.

  • N+1 / N+2 redundancy engineered in from the start — not retrofitted later
  • Co-located but in front of the meter — no regulatory complexity passed to you, and a structure utilities welcome rather than resist
  • Can replace traditional diesel backup generators — eliminating a permitting obstacle, maintenance burden, and environmental liability in one move
  • Scales from blocks of 10 MW reciprocating engines to 50 MW-class turbines, matched to your demand curve
  • Works for single new builds and existing multi-site portfolios

Why operators choose Takanock

You buy power.
We handle everything else.

01

Land, generation, transmission, permits, equipment, regulatory navigation — each with its own timeline and failure points. Takanock holds accountability for all of it, under a long-term agreement structured like a utility PPA, from site identification through grid connection and beyond. No fuel procurement headaches. No generation O&M on your plate.

Continuity of power.

02

Our power generation is permanent infrastructure – not a temporary workaround. Takanock’s integrated generation architecture is engineered for uninterrupted service through grid disruptions, extreme weather, and extended outages. When the grid goes down, your operations don’t.

Co-located, but in front of the meter.

03

There’s always a utility-owned wire between Takanock and the customer we serve — intentionally. This structure lets us partner with utilities and adhere to public rate-making principles: no cost shifting to ratepayers, no burden on the grid.

Five-nines generation.
Goodbye diesel.

04

N+1 or N+2 turbine-based generation delivers >99.999% uptime — exceeding Tier 3 data center standards. Optionally eliminating diesel removes a major environmental liability, maintenance burden, and permitting obstacle in one move.

Sustainability is built-in, not bolted on.

05

Best-available emission controls come standard on every Takanock facility. Our dispatchable generation supports greater renewable integration, and you retain full flexibility to procure your own clean energy. Reliable power today, credible path to net zero over time.

Built for workloads that don’t fit anywhere else.

06

Takanock designs for scalable AI training and inference from the start — with fiber, routing, and power infrastructure engineered to grow with your facility over its full lifecycle.

Patent-pending fuel reliability.

07

Pipeline interruptions are real. Every Takanock design includes dual-fuel capability, with turbines specified to run on propane or hydrogen from day one.

FAQ

Our generation plants sit on-site, next to the data center, but are metered in front of — not behind — the customer’s meter. That distinction matters: it avoids the regulatory hurdles associated with true behind-the-meter arrangements while ensuring the local utility remains whole through continued payment of transmission and distribution charges.

We use proven, commercially available equipment — gas turbines, switchgear, and transformers from established manufacturers — but we’ve developed a patent-pending way of connecting and configuring those components to deliver resiliency and redundancy that’s normally only achievable with a custom-built power plant. Think of it as a standard set of building blocks, assembled in a way no one else has put together.

Traditionally, getting a data center fully powered and backed up requires building three separate things: an interim bridging plant, a new utility-owned peaking plant, and on-site diesel backup. Takanock’s single, purpose-designed on-site power plant is engineered to do the job of all three, reducing costs, complexity, and timelines.

Our generation is designed for five-nines (99.999%) availability, the same standard hyperscalers and data center operators use to measure their own uptime. Through an N+1/N+2 redundant configuration, we provide a failover comparable to, and intended to replace, conventional diesel backup.

We work with established manufacturers for core equipment and partner with recognized names in mission-critical design and construction for everything from architecture to structural engineering to electromagnetic protection.
